It is common human practice to want what we want as soon as possible. That includes a new job, promotion, car, travel, lover, etc. We are sometimes so determined to get it as fast as possible that we go through life rushing on to the next thing on the list. Believing that we can speed our way to its manifestation.
Did you know that nothing can come into our reality until we are truly ready for it? Not just mentally ready for it, like when we tell ourselves we are ready for a romantic partner but have not worked on ourselves to become a version that not only attracts but keeps the type of person we are wanting. Being truly ready for something is not achieved by only your thoughts and actions, it is trusting that the Universe will provide it when you no longer have resistance to it.
Resistance is the reason why most things we desire don’t come into our lives. Another reason is that it may not be relevant to our life plan. That part isn’t up to us. Our job is to get into alignment with what we desire, and if it doesn’t manifest then it means it isn’t for us. Many instances of divine protection happen this way. Don’t be upset that what you wanted didn’t happen, instead ask the Universe what it was protecting you from. When you are observant enough, you will receive an answer.
It is ok to be where you are in life as you prepare to welcome what you are wanting. It is ok to take it one step at a time. It is more than ok to slow down. Speeding through won’t make it come any faster, but it will cause feelings of frustration, annoyance, and exhaustion; And cause us to miss so many details. Those negative emotions are indications of the resistance you still hold.
A reminder that we want what we want not because of having the thing specifically, but how we think the thing will make us feel. It all comes back to wanting to feel better than we currently do. Why make ourselves feel bad while on the journey to achieving the thing we want?
The Universe is not in a rush, we are. Sometimes what we want and when we want it aligns perfectly and we get it. This is because there is no resistance to not having it. Resistance exists in all forms, it is present when we procrastinate, when we scream no to something that has found its way into our lives, when we are unable to do simple tasks like sleep even though we know we are exhausted, but our bodies or minds won’t settle enough to allow it.
If you want something to truly come faster, get out of your own way. That is, take your attention away from the lack of it in your life. Get to a place of happiness with wherever you are in life, so much that it doesn’t matter if it shows up or not. Once you achieve that, then you have successfully let go of any resistance to it. Remember, when we desire something, we also desire the absence of not having it, a.k.a. resistance. Anything you give your attention to highlights its negative component. If you want a new car, you also want the absence of not having a new car, or you want a deep restful sleep. You are desiring the absence of less than restful sleep. It is automatic and not something you can intentionally manipulate.
The easiest way to release resistance is to stop giving your desire’s appearance in your life so much power. You can still achieve happiness and contentment whether it shows up or not. Happiness and Contentment exists in the present moment, not some abstract time in the future based on specific requirements.
Slow down enough to observe life happening around you. To be in the moment, so that you don’t live your life with regret. Regret when you look back and wish you were more present at a pivotal time in your life, instead of worrying about the one thing you think was missing. Pay attention to all the positive happening to and around you.
As always, courage is required. A great place to begin is to look at reasons why you may be resisting. Of course, radical self-honesty is a must here if you want any progress. View each scenario from both perspectives and see which one serves you.
